Not sure of the dates but maybe ’91/92 I helped out in the office, as part of a training scheme run by Leeds City Council I think. Jed Bultitude was the manager. John Preston, Jessica and Ian were around.
One weekend a few of us went to the Alternative Technology Centre in Machynlleth, Wales.
We had an old army tent and camped in a sheep filled, prickly field, the shower and toilet facilities were very basic!
I hadn’t occurred to me that since we only had one tent, the mixed gender group of eight would be sharing. I seem to remember a glass of mulled wine helped me get over the initial shock. In any case it was way too cold to remove outdoor clothing to sleep. I remember thinking then I was getting too old for camping. I was the oldest person in the group.
My daughter was the only kid, about 7/8 years old. I would love if anyone has photos of the trip. As we also went to a deserted, unspoiled beach somewhere and my daughter thought it was very special.
Happy memories of the very special place and people at (B)TCV.
